“Big Brother Is Not Watching” starts with Jason making dinner.
While doing so, he makes a stupid musical number out of this.
God, please stop!
With the exception of Mike, all the Seavers, one by one, come in and catch Jason. He’s embarrassed, but they’re amused.
I’m just glad it ended.
Carol goes into the living, while Ben stays in the kitchen with Jason and Maggie. In effort to get a new bike, Ben tries to suck up to Jason and Maggie, but it doesn’t work.
Ben goes out into the driveway, where Mike is washing his car. Turns out Ben’s whole scheme was Mike’s idea.
Are you surprised?
Mike gets Ben to continue washing his car,
as he explains how Ben needs to carry out from here, in order to be successful. Ben screams once he realizes Mike’s doing exactly what Ben wants to do, in order to get the bike.
Ben comes back in and Maggie is wondering why he was screaming out there. Ben says he was trying to get Mike’s help, so Ben can get Maggie and Jason to buy him a new bike. As Ben realizes he’s about to bring up the bike, he exits the kitchen.
Ben comes in to the living room and sees Carol.
As Mike explains his dilemma, Carol can’t believe Ben let Mike help him. Carol convinces Ben to let her help him. She tells him the trick is to just look perfect, in their eyes.
Ben goes back into the kitchen. He tells Maggie and Jason about the bike, but that he’ll pay for it himself. Maggie is so impressed that she says her and Jason will pay for half.
Carol is still in the living room when Mike comes in. Mike’s looking for Ben, so Ben can (wash Mike’s car) get more advice from Mike. Ben comes in and tells Carol what happened. Mike can’t believe that Ben took Carol’s advice. Ben says they’ll pay half, but he has no idea how he’ll get the 60$. Carol comes up with the idea of having a raffle. They’ll have 60 tickets, that cost a dollar each, and they’ll pick a winner. In this case, Mike is actually the one against this.
Oh, how the tables have turned.
Ben and Carol head upstairs to work out the details, while Mike stays in the livingroom.
Mike is still in the living room watching TV. Jason and Maggie come in and Mike tells him about Ben taking Carol’s advice instead of his. Mike heads upstairs to see what Ben and Carol are doing. Mike opens the door to Carol’s room, where Carol’s fitting a dress, using Ben.
He looks like Cinderella.
Mike tells Carol Maggie and Jason said she had to take the trash out. While she goes and does that, Mike tries to convince Ben that Carol’s just using her. He doesn’t listen.
The next day, while Maggie and Jason go out shopping, Ben and Carol are gonna have the raffell. Carol sets the table up, while Mike is just telling Carol how she’s only doing this for personal gain.
Ben comes home, with his friend Jody. Turns out Ben sold three raffle tickets. One to Jody and the other two to the Babotz brothers. The Babotz brothers will now threatened everyone who tries to buy a ticket, so now they’ll will. Maggie and Jason come to the driveway, from the kitchen. Turns out they tricked the kids and just drove around the house.
They still have the raffle.
Jody wins and Jason tells the Babotz brothers to leave. Maggie comes outside, with Mike, and tells Jason that it was Carol’s fault. Ben hopes Jody, being his friend, will give the bike back. That’s not the case and Jody rides off.
That’ll teach Ben.
Mike and Ben walk back into the house, as Mike gives Ben more advice.
End scene: Carol is in the kitchen with Jason and Maggie. They’re surprise she’s not sad about her punishment of having to do the dishes for a month. They’re surprised she would even do anything like that in the first place. Carol said she just loved the rush of it and totally sees why Mike does stuff like this.
And That’s the Point!
